 Loss & Bereavement

Navigating the Landscape of Loss

Grief is not a single mountain to be climbed and conquered; it is a vast, often unpredictable landscape. While we most commonly associate grief with the death of a loved one, loss takes many forms, and each one is a valid reason to seek support.

At Gracious Mountain, I provide a safe, compassionate sanctuary to explore and process all types of loss, helping you find your footing when the ground feels like it has shifted.

Honouring Every Form of Grief

Loss is not always visible to others, but its weight is always felt by you. I specialise in supporting clients through:

  • Bereavement: Navigating the profound silence left by the death of a partner, family member, or friend.

  • Secondary Loss: Addressing the "unseen" changes that follow a death—the loss of your identity, your financial security, or the future plans you had envisioned.

  • Disenfranchised Grief: Validating the pain that society sometimes overlooks, such as the loss of a pet, a miscarriage, or the ending of a relationship that others didn't fully understand.

  • Living Grief: Supporting those dealing with "anticipatory grief"—the long goodbye associated with a loved one’s terminal illness or cognitive decline like Dementia.

  • Life Transitions: Processing the symbolic "deaths" in our lives—the loss of health, the end of a career, or the "empty nest" when children leave home

How We Work Together

I don't believe in "getting over" grief; I believe in learning to carry it differently. Using a blend of Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy, we work at your pace. While traditional talk therapy helps you express your pain, my specialist techniques—including BWRT®—can help ease the physical "sting" of traumatic memories and the overwhelming anxiety that often accompanies loss. We aim to move you from a place of being "stuck" in the pain to a place where you can honour your past while gently stepping back into your life.

"You do not have to carry the weight of the world alone. Let’s find a path through the mist together."
