General Questions/Information

I take a solution focused approach to therapy and as each person is different, therapy is personalised dependent on the changes you wish to make.  Utilising various different techniques, BWRT®, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, helping you to explore your thoughts, emotions and behaviour, as well as your physical and spiritual health, to help you, as an individual, and give you the best therapeutic tools to enable you to achieve your therapy goal. 


As a therapist I offer you my honesty and respect. If I am not the right person for you I will try to recommend an alternative.

I am completely non judgemental and offer a warm and friendly service, which is strictly confidential, in a relaxed atmosphere, face to face or online. 

What is Online Therapy

Webcam or audio therapy - Zoom is a way for you to have your therapy face to face or via audio from your computer whilst engaging in the therapy. Should you chose Zoom therapy, I send you a personal link to you for each individual session so that we can meet on Zoom at a time that we have previously arranged. Sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length.  Being able to see each other gives you more of the benefits you get from face to face therapy but with the convenience of online therapy. By talking you hear tone of voice which is a way to convey empathy and by video you see non-verbal communications such as facial expressions. 


Online therapy offers certain benefits but there are also limitations that are worth bearing in mind when deciding which type of therapy will best suit your needs.



  • Therapy from your own home at a time that suits you

  • Secure enscription software offers confidentiality and peace of mind

  • No chance that you may be seen entering the therapists practice

  • Therapy at a time and place that suits you

  • Access to therapy may be more immediate

  • You can have therapy from anywhere in the country as long as you have an internet signal, even whilst away from your home.

  • You are not limited to a local Therapist


Things to consider

  • Are you comfortable using internet technology?

  • Would you prefer to see your therapist face to face?

  • Is there a computer terminal that you can use privately without interruption? Or do you have a smart phone you can use where there may be more flexibility to the place your join the meeting from?

What is Face to Face Therapy

Face to face therapy is where you would have your appointments in my therapy room at a pre-booked time to suit your needs.  It is also possible to mix Face to Face therapy with online therapy if this is easier for your requirements, we can discuss this at your initial consultation.


During the course of the COVID 19 Pandemic there are limited Face to face appointments available, majority of appointments are Online.

How many sessions will I need?

At the initial consultation I will give you an idea of the amount of therapy you might need and also the type of therapy recommended, whether it be BWRT®, Psychotherapy or Hypnotherapy or of course a mixture.  However, the length of therapy will depend on your progress as an individual and therefore can change, but will be reviewed on a regular basis. From my point of you I want you to achieve your goal/s as fast as possible. 

Do you only work with adults?

I am qualified to work with adults, adolescents and children and am also part of the Hypnotherapy in Schools Programme.  I work with a wide variety of ages on various issues, especially anxiety, stress, confidence and self esteem.  

Am I too Old to change?

If you have something in your life that you really want to change, be it a behaviour or an emotion, then, my belief is that you can make changes at any time in your life, old or young.
