FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

BWRT®

Q.  What is BWRT®?

BWRT® is a solution-focused behavioural psychotherapy which means that we work on creating a solution to a learned behaviour that you wish to change. Below is a short video by Terence Watts, the creator of BWRT® explaining a little more about it and how it works.  I was fortunate enough to be trained in BWRT® by Terence Watts.

Q.  How does it work?

BWRT® is a cutting edge therapy for the twenty-first century. BWRT® stands for BrainWorking Recursive Therapy and it is a 'content-free' process that doesn't rely on a therapist saying the right things or discovering private information or personal secrets.  In fact, all the therapist needs to know is what the client wants to be able to do, or be able to stop doing.

Personal problems, fears, anxieties, or even severe difficulties that have lasted for years can melt away almost as if by magic, and often in just one or two sessions.  The Therapy can even be carried out via the internet, so a lack of confidence, feelings or awkwardness or tight schedules need not be an obstacle to improving your life.

Q.  What happens in a session?

In a session, the client is guided to use just their own thoughts - without the therapist even needing to know what those thoughts are - in a special way to create a totally natural change that comes from within the client rather than from something the therapist says or does.  All the work is done in a completely 'awake state' and doesn't use hypnosis or any mysterious spiritual or religious ideas of any sort - it's completely logical, practical and down-to-earth, and all it needs to be successful is for the client to want something in their life to be different.

Q.  What are your Qualifications and are they up to date?

Only registered Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and can display the BWRT® logos.  You can search on the BBRS (British BrainWorking Research Society) website at https://www.bbrs.org.uk/.  I display all my qualifications and memberships on the wall of my clinic along with my insurance details.

It is mandatory for any therapist to have Continous Professional Development throughout each year in the form of Mentoring, Supervision and updating of skills.

Q.  Will I be safe and is everything confidential?

I am a registered member of the BBRS (British BrainWorking Research Society), the APHP (Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy), the NRPC (National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors),  and the National Hypnotherapy Society and am bound by these societies strict codes of ethics and conduct.  I am fully qualified, insured and hold a current DBS certificate.

Everything you say is held in the strictest of confidences.  All files are locked away.  During my own Mentoring and Supervision sessions, no names are given only gender, help sort and results.

For testimonials, clients have given their consent for these to be used and names have been changed.

Hypnotherapy

Q. Is Hypnosis the same as we see on TV?

No.  TV hypnotism is something we call mentalism and the contestants are quite often competing for a prize.  In Hypnosis we cannot make you say or do something that you don't want to do.  You can come out of hypnosis at any time, you are always in control .

Q. How many sessions will I need?

The amount of sessions you will require will depend on the reason you have sort help and this will be disussed with you at your initial consultation.   I always try to keep the sessions down to a minimum.

Q. What about confidentiality?

You will only divulge information that you wish to divulge.  You are always in control.  Everything you may say is held in the strictest of confidences and I am bound by a strict code of ethics.  All files are locked away.  During my own Mentoring and Supervision sessions, no names are given only gender, help sort and results.

For testimonials, clients have given their consent for these to be used and names have been changed.

Q.  Can you help me if my problem is not on the list?

It is not possible to include all ailments and problems that hypnotherapy can help with on a website.  Please give me a call for a chat to discuss your particular issue.  If I can't help then I will always try to refer you to someone who can.
